In-house PowerPoint presentation explaining the steps in creative writing from the initial idea to the finished novel.


Duration: Approximately one hour.

Creative Writing Workshops

Grade Four:

Using PowerPoint presentation and workbooks pupils are introduced to the use of more colourful language in the telling of their story.

Grade Five:

This extends the work from Grade Four, including the use of senses in descriptive writing with extra emphasis on sight and sound. Introduce the idea of a “Story Mountain” as a way of planning a story.

Grade Six:

This workshop further develops the use of descriptive language, planning and the development of a story. This, once again, emphasises the use of descriptive words and the senses.

Senior Creative Writing Workshop:

This uses creative problem solving to help pupils to think outside the box”, creative thinking when looking at a subject, and creative writing using various skill and techniques.
